7 STEPS FOR HIMALAYAN SALT LAMP CARE

Pure Himalayan Salt lamps are one of the most effective natural health solutions. However, in order for you to reap their maximum rewards, please follow these simple steps to learn how to clean a Himalayan salt lamp:

  1. Make sure you have unplugged the lamp
  2. Make sure to be aware of where of where the lamp is situated at all times so to not drop the lamp.
  3. Also, remove the bulb and place at a safe location so to not drop and shatter the bulb. mo
  4. Take a normal tea towel or a dish towel.
  5. Make it slightly damp
  6. Wipe down the lamp starting from the top and working your way to the bottom.
  7. If you see salt accumulating at the base then wipe off that salt.

Try to keep the lamp on for few hours every day in order to prevent it from accumulating moisture. The heat from the bulb prevents the lamp from retaining moisture and deteriorating. When not in use for long periods, disconnect the power cord and remove the bulb from the lamp, and store the salt lamp and base in a plastic bag to prevent the lamp from absorbing moisture. In humid conditions, you can put a small tray under your lamp in the rare instance that the lamp may pool water.

Due to the hygroscopic properties, it is best to keep salt lamps out of humid environments (outdoors, damp rooms etc). Hygroscopic means that the salt likes to suck out water from its environment. If you live in an extremely humid environment, it is recommended that you keep your lamp turned on for as long as possible throughout the day. For best results, leave it on for the entirety of the day.Try to keep the lamp dry as much as you can. If you believe that water has dripped into the light connections, replace the cord immediately. Additionally, It is best to plug your salt lamp directly into the wall without the use of a power board.
